Do You Have Mold Symptoms?

Actual Photo's From My Mold Inspections What Is Mold?
There are hundreds of thousands of different types of molds. They show up in many different colors and shades, most often as black mold. They are living organisms that grow naturally, particularly in warm, damp, humid conditions such as basement and attic where there is little air movement. Often called “mildew,” molds are related to mushrooms and yeast but are much smaller we can only see or smell mold when there is a large quantity. Here in Michigan, indoor mold can grow almost anywhere: on carpets, ceilings, walls or furniture. Water leaks, spills from bathtubs or showers, or condensation, can cause mold to grow in your house. Toxic mold like stachybotrys mold produces mold “spores,” tiny particles that float through the air. These can cause indoor air quality and health problems. Mold can affected people differently when mold is breathed or inhaled. Some allergic reactions to mold are watery eyes, runny or stuffed noses, itching, headaches, and may have difficulty breathing. Some molds are toxic that may be hazardous if people are exposed to large amounts of these molds.

How We Test?
Radon testing is an inexpensive test to ensure that the indoor air quality of your home is safe for you and your family. Radon testing is a 48 hour short term test that complies with U.S.E.P.A. We place passive sample canisters in the home. The samples are collected and sent to a Certified Lab for analysis. We provide results and Radon mitigation recommendations if required within 24 hours after the Lab completes the analysis.
What is Radon Gas....?
Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes and finished basement, schools, and buildings around the world. Environmental Radon Gas comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil and rock and moves up into the indoor air that people breathe. Radon gas is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Radon mitigation systems is a proven method to reduce radon levels in homes and buildings. The Surgeon General of the United States has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today.
What Level of Radon Gas is Acceptable?
Radon in air is ubiquitous. Radon is found in outdoor air and in the indoor air of buildings of all kinds. EPA recommends homes be fixed if the radon level is 4 pCi/L (pico Curies per Liter) or more. Because there is no known safe level of exposure to radon, EPA also recommends that Americans consider fixing their home for radon levels between 2 pCi/L and 4 pCi/L.
The average radon concentration in the indoor air of America’s homes is about 1.3 pCi/L. It is upon this level that EPA based its estimate of 20,000 radon-related lung cancers a year upon. It is for this simple reason that EPA recommends that Americans consider fixing their homes when the radon level is between 2 pCi/L and 4 pCi/L. The average concentration of radon in outdoor air is 0.4 pCi/L or 1/10th of EPA’s 4 pCi/L action level.
